Mental health problems can affect anyone but discrimination and stigma can make people apprehensive to opening up about their experiences and seeking help.
RecoveryAllstars have been running as a community group for a number of years and in January 2002 after a great friendship had developed, they joined forces with Enjoy Football CIC.
Through the regular sessions they help educate and support people who are in recovery from addiction/substance misuse and with mental ill health by sharing personal journeys whilst playing the beautiful game of football and keeping keeping fit at the same time. We are non-judgmental and whatever is talked about stays on the pitch. Its a safe place for people in Recovery and if we can provide knowledge and support to our peers we can make people realise their full potential.

Such is the success of the sessions, we have now expanded to St Helens which is supported by our friends at St Helens Town AFC.
