Just shy of two years ago, we started our first Women's over 30s Social football session.
Within that time, the group has grown to the point that they wanted something a bit more competitive.
Over the summer of 24, we played 2 games against a local team Cromwell FC Falcons, who started just after our group and were mainly linked to Cromwell JFc in some capacity.
Although we had played 1 game previously, we had a more balanced group having had now a bit more experience in the game.
Both games were hard fought, but the Purple and Greens came through with a draw and a win.
It was almost a given when the group were invited to join a new league created by Liverpool County FA called the She inspires League. The league is played on the first sunday of the month but before the league started in earnest, we had to go through an assessment day.
Playing 5 games against experienced and new teams, all games were close. The team managed to win one, draw one but lost narrowly to some well established teams. On that basis, we were graded to join the 3rd division.
The league started in October with 2 games. We drew the first and lost the 2nd, but the effort was superb and the play was encouraging as once again, the games were extremely tight.
We now move onto November for our next 2 games.
